Welcome to 2007!

Staff Changes at Latitude Nelson

After five years as Manager of the Nelson Convention Bureau, I will be moving on to become Latitude Nelson's International Marketing Manager on February 12th.  I will be replaced by Angela Moriarty (pictured), who prior to her recent OE was the Tourism Reporter at The Nelson Mail.  I know Angela will do a fantastic job assisting you in organising successful conferences and meetings in Nelson.  Angela will be travelling to the main centres regularly, and attending major conference market events, like our Auckland "Sea Views" event detailed below, so I hope you will get a chance to meet her soon.

Sea Views - with seafood and sauvignon

Once again this year, Nelson and Marlborough tourism operators will be exhibiting at the Grand Tea room, Heritage Hotel Auckland on the afternoon of the 18th of April.  This is always a great opportunity for Aucklanders to meet with operators from Nelson and Marlborough, for an up-to-date profile of the regions' conferencing capabilities.  This year, with our seaside theme, we look forward to sharing the bounty of the regions' vineyards and ocean.  Registered visitors will be welcome to attend the event any time between 2pm and 4pm on the 18th April.  Please contact me if you wish to receive an invitation for this event.

Nelson to Awaroa - DIRECT!

Awaroa Lodge & Abel Tasman Cruises are pleased to announce the opening of a new scheduled service from Nelson to Awaroa Lodge [& return voyage] daily.

'Caretta' is Nelson's newest and largest passenger vessel with seating for 65, onboard food and bar facilities and complimentary tea and coffee. The service takes just two and a half hours to Awaroa passing through the scenic beauty of the Tasman Bay & Abel Tasman National Park.

The vessel is available for charter making it the ideal way to get all your delegates to Awaroa Lodge for your next Conference or Event.

Caretta is moored at Nelson Marina just 10 minutes from the airport. www.awaroalodge.co.nz or www.abeltasmancruises.co.nz

Electronic Welcome to Nelson Conference Delegates

The recently renovated Nelson Airport, now features an electronic community noticeboard, which can be used by conference organisers to welcome delegates to your event in Nelson.  A warm welcome extended to delegates immediately upon arrival is a great way to create a positive feeling among the delegation to last the duration of their stay.  Also, don't forget to order free Nelson Tasman Delegate Packs to provide to each delegate.  The packs contain brochures, maps and activity ideas.  Your delegates won't want to leave!
